Mama Artemisia

Mama Artemisia

For many years, Christine Dachs worked for a national newspaper in Austria, the “Salzburger Nachrichten” as a project manager. In 2005 she decided on a new career and moved to Arusha in Tanzania where she built up a tour business which focused on arranging conducted climbs up Mt. Kilimanjaro and safaris. Christine’s enthusiasm for Tanzanian life and culture combined with her love for tailor-made trips moved her to set up Mama Artemisia, promoting and marketing Tanzania for individual tastes. All trips are operated by Tupendane Daima Safaris, a licensed Tour Operator and member of TATO. These may be a safari in a comfortable car, it may be staying in romantic lodges, or it may be visiting a potter who lives and works in a local village surrounded by banana plants. Or it may be going hunting with the Hadza, one of the few remaining tribes of  Bushmen in Africa. Or it may be a trip to the seaside in Zanzibar or a climb up the big mountain. Or, most likely, a combination of some or all of these. That is what Christine is all about – knowing her guests, preparing a specialist itinerary to match their interests, knowing tour operators who, like her, ensure guests enjoy a quality experience. That, in a nutshell, is what Mama Artemisia is all about. Perfectly shaped for discerning guests to Tanzania with the emphasis on personal, undivided attention and care.
